The excursion departs from the city of Salta and heads west through the spectacular Quebrada del Toro, gradually ascending towards the high-altitude landscapes of the Andes.
Along the route, we pass through Campo Quijano and Santa Rosa de Tastil, one of the most important archaeological sites in the region, before continuing towards the highlands.
We reach Laguna del Toro, a high-altitude lagoon surrounded by impressive Andean landscapes. This is an excellent location for observing flamingos and other bird species that inhabit the area.
The excursion combines trekking, wildlife observation, archaeology, and spectacular high-altitude scenery, offering an ideal experience for nature and adventure enthusiasts.

Recommendations
Comfortable trekking footwear, warm clothing, sunscreen, a hat or cap, sunglasses, plenty of water, and a light backpack are recommended. Due to the altitude, it is advisable to walk slowly and stay well hydrated. Binoculars and a camera or cell phone with sufficient battery are highly recommended for flamingo watching and photographing the landscapes.
