1 About

About

Our tour begins in the city center, where the Basilica Cathedral is located. Built in the Neo-Renaissance style, it was designed by the renowned Italian architect Caravatti and completed in 1875. Inside the Camarín, built in 1912, is the Sacred Image of Our Lady of the Valley, National Patroness of Tourism.

We also visit the Church and Convent of San Francisco. The current temple, built on the same site as the one established at the time of the city’s foundation, was constructed according to plans by Luis Giorgi, who also designed its striking façade. It preserves, as a precious relic, the cell once occupied by Fray Mamerto Esquiú and his heart, preserved in a glass urn.

The Adán Quiroga Archaeological Museum (optional) houses one of the most important collections in the Northwest of Argentina. It displays artifacts from different historical periods and cultures, including Aguada, Cóndor Huasi, Ciénaga, and Santa María.

The tour continues with a visit to the Carpet Factory and the Handicrafts Market, where visitors can appreciate regional products. Finally, we visit the Valley Virgin’s Grotto and El Jumeal Dam.
