About

A journey from Salta through the spectacular Quebrada de Humahuaca, one of northern Argentina’s most iconic destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We travel towards Purmamarca, a picturesque Andean village located at the foot of the famous Cerro de los Siete Colores. We continue through Maimará, where we admire the colorful mountains known as the Paleta del Pintor.
The journey continues to Tilcara, where we can explore the town and its historic and cultural heritage. We then continue through Huacalera, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, before reaching Uquía and its historic church, famous for its paintings of the Archangel Warriors.
Finally, we arrive in Humahuaca, where we explore its historic center and visit important landmarks such as the Cathedral and the Monument to Independence, known as El Indio.
The excursion combines spectacular mountain landscapes, Andean culture, history, architecture, and the ancestral traditions of the Quebrada de Humahuaca.

Recommendations

Comfortable footwear, sunscreen, a hat or cap, sunglasses, water, and a light jacket are recommended due to changing temperatures along the route. A camera or cell phone with sufficient battery is also recommended to capture the colorful mountains, historic towns, and Andean landscapes.
