Belén is a small city located along the river of the same name, on the edge of the vast and arid Belén plain. One of its main attractions is its long-standing tradition of producing ponchos and textile handicrafts, using sheep, llama, and vicuña wool. The Cóndor Huasi Provincial Archaeological Museum features an excellent chronological display of artifacts from the indigenous cultures that inhabited what is now Catamarca Province, from pre-ceramic groups to those that coexisted with the Spanish.

We also visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Belén. On a nearby hill west of the city, there is a monument dedicated to Our Lady of Belén. It is reached via a 1,900-meter trail, and the statue is 15 meters high. This location serves as a natural viewpoint.

Londres, founded in 1558, was the second city founded by the Spanish in what is now Argentine territory. This settlement was rebuilt five times. From here, we access El Shincal, an Inca archaeological reserve. The ruins cover approximately one square kilometer on uneven terrain. In the southern part, three small isolated hills rise with structures built along their slopes. The main section of the site consists of a series of rectangular enclosures, whose stone walls are more than two meters high, arranged from north to south. Parapets can also be observed.

The artifacts found at the site belong to the Belén Culture, with Inca influence.
